Our mission is to provide a comprehensive emergency management system which coordinates people and resources to protect the lives, property and environment of Johnson County using an all hazards approach through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery from disasters and emergencies. Community Emergency Response Team Classes Scheduled

Paintsville/Johnson County Emergency Management is scheduling Johnson County CERT Team training Classes. The first class will be held at the West Van Lear Community Center on August 11,12,14,18,19, 2008. The second class will be held at the Red Bush Volunteer Fire Department on September 15,16,18,22,23, 2008. This is a 20 hr. class with a free CERT Response Kit issued at the completion of the class. March has been designated as Severe Storms Preparedness Month across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The National Weather Service offices that serve the state of Kentucky along with the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management and the Kentucky Weather Preparedness Committee have designated this month as a time for severe weather preparedness.
